Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Ordered the three item Lunch Box. Food came out fresh and smelled great. Taste was great also. Good place to stop by if in the area. Everyone was very nice and pricing is fair.

My favorite place in MV. Better that Tomy and that crowded. Visit and try, you will never regret!

This is definitely one of the best sushi places in mountain view- super fresh seafood and amazing to watch the chef create your sushi right before your eyes. Friendly service and generous portions of pickled ginger - man, I love that stuff!

Very quiet atmosphere with different seating options, including low tables similar to the real Japanese experience.The sushi bar is really nice and stocked with fresh fish. The chef is talkative and fun as their waiters: very polite and entertaining, ready to recommend the best menu options.I had Jalapeno and some seared tuna and they were both amazing.Will definitely go back again!

Iv been coming here for about a year give or take... Leon has always been a great chef! He is very friendly, witty and just a joy to dine in front of. But let's talk food! I have been very disappointed with many sushi restaurants in the area and literally stopped going and making sushi hand rolls at home with very selected ingredients. After that trying to go back to those restaurants and just the quality was not good. A friend of mine told me I must try this place! So I went here with not very high expectations... but oh. my. god. Leon blew my mind with his omakase! The quality of fish is great! The sushi rice is well balanced with vinegar! It is always bomb! We always have a great time here! I highly recommend trying it.

This review is based on two visits to Yakko. The last time we sat at the Sushi bar.Everyone is very friendly! The sushi is very fresh. The crab salad is some of the best of any sushi place we have been in the past.The prices are also excellent. We got three special rolls and one of the combo sushi platters and it was only $60.We'd really like to try the traditional tables in the back where you kneel at the floor tables.We'll definitely be going back.

Lovely Japanese restaurant away from the crowds of Castro St. The ambiance is fantastic and I absolutely loved being able to sit at low Japanese style tables (they have regular tables too).Expect all your standard sushi rolls, grilled dishes, and sukiyaki. Prices are more than reasonable and the quality of the fish is fantastic. The staff are very attentive and friendly. And I like that they serve a pot of tea instead of a tiny cup at a time. And while there never seems to be a line here they absolutely deserve one.

This place has been here since 1976 and it continues to be the best sushi in mt view. If you're looking for a sushi boat atmosphere, this isn't it. They have traditional Japanese style tables, a small sit down sushi bar and traditional Western seating. They only serve what is fresh. If you are craving a good Japanese dinner this place is awesome.

Fairly decent taste, okay portions as well for the price. There wasn't a wait when I went (a bit out of peak hours). Would recommend it to be worth a try.

The staff forgot to serve half the items ordered for the table and did not apologize for their mistakes. Try any other sushi place in the area, this one needs new management to clean house.

Pretty good. I had a special lunch Box with grilled teriyaki salmon, salad, eel over rice, salt fish, fries tempura and miso soup. The server asked if I wanted soy beans, and I said yes but I was under the impression that they came with the meal not they they were a separate charge. Not a big deal, I can pay just would have been nice to know. Overall great place.

Great place that's easily the best sushi spot in town. It's a little tucked away so quieter than other places but that's actually quite nice given how crowded some parts of mountain view can be. If you want great sushi and sashimi this is the place to come!

Sit at the sushi bar and you will experience the best sushi in mountain view, possibly the South Bay. Ask the chef for his recommendations and you won't be disappointed!

Amazing people and amazing food

The owners and waitresses were very accommodating and attentive, as well as happy to provide any suggestions. Decided to get an assortment along with the specials of the day and was very pleasantly surprised. The total cost might have been a bit pricey, but it was definitely worth it!

Worst restaurant ever. Missed our order but kept telling us order is coming. They don't understand English well. We were so hungry and they didn't know how to swipe a credit card. Plus, the food is super expensive!

This is a solid choice for Japanese food in Mountain View. It is large enough that we can normally find a table without waiting. The presentation of the food is excellent, the fish is quite fresh, and the prices are reasonable. My wife enjoyed the soba noodles last time too.

Staff is always so friendly and accommodating. Love the rolls especially the ladies gone wild. It’s so good we order the same items every time. Hamachi is super high quality.

Located off just off the busy Castro St., Yakko serves some of the most delicious sushi I've had in the Mountain View area. Pleasant, heartwarming service makes this place special. Case in point: I accidentally threw away my retainer after dinner, and the staff at Yakko went above and beyond in finding it. I'm definitely going to visit more in the future!

I love this place.. A hidden gem!!! While everyone is in a Long line at sushi Tomi on the other side of the same street. I'm here at Yakko, No line, great fresh fish and great service !! Already my second time here. Oh did I mention the hot sake it yummy!

Sushi and bento box specials at relatively competitive prices. Both bar and table seating available. Service was great especially considering the waitress was running all the tables (apparently her coworker had called in sick) yet we still received our food expeditiously.

Only three outside 4-tops during quarantine, so reservations recommended, or get it to-go. Service was a little slow, but the food is as good as it ever was pre-pandemic.

Excellent sushi and incredible staff

Friendly service and good food! Yakko is a fantastic alternative to some of the other sushi places in Mountain View that get too crowded around lunch or dinner. We came on a Friday night around 7 and there was no wait. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable. This is our new go-to sushi restaurant!

Great, dependable, family friendly place to eat fresh sushi with lots of choices. Friendly ambiance, local sushi joint that has been around for many years. The sushi chef runs the restaurant with a huge smile. How does he create so much art in the sushi? Sit at the low tables, shoes off for a more intimate seating, or at the sushi bar, or regular dining area where you can watch t.v. or peek into the kitchen. Sometimes there's a long wait if you time it wrong. Nothing nicer than a hearty welcome and farewell send off across the room by the entire staff.

Very attentive and thoughtful; gave me a small complimentary tofu appetizer (very tasty!) and offered me a complimentary tea at the end of the meal. When I mentioned I couldn't have caffeine at that hour (and the restaurant didn't have herbal, decaf teas), the waitress thoughtfully gave me a cup of hot water with toasted rice inside. Very nice end to the meal!- Food: Excellent! One of the best rainbow rolls I've ever had, with super-fresh fish, nice proportions. And the salmon belly was melt-in-my-mouth delicious. Only disappointment was the tempura ice cream, since the I had assumed tempura = crispy but it was just mushy :(.I'll definitely be back to try more things on the menu!P.S. -- re parking... street parking around here is nuts :(. You're best off parking one one of the nearby tall garages and walking 5 minutes to the restaurant.

Great chicken teriyaki. I optimisticly ordered the special box. So much food! Great place for lunch.
